Valencia

Valencia is a vibrant city with a  modern museum complex in the dry river bed of the Rio Turia. The old city, particularly Barrio del Carmen, is very beautifull. Many good restaurants and a busy street nightlife.

Fallas Fiestas in March. Valencia celebrates an incredible build and burn sculpture competition where local neighbourhood groups construct large, street structures which are viewed by over a million visitors daily, judged, then burnt, all except the winning exibit.

The best way to see fallas is a day visit by train, avoiding the difficulty of parking in urban Valencia during fiestas. Trains from The Bike Inn, Castellon to Valencia take just 1 hour.

The architecture of the science museum, Auditorium, Hemispheric and Aquarium are impressive and an interesting bike ride from the historic city centre down the River Turia.

Leaving the city heading north, you pass the romanic town of Sagunto following the A.7 Autopista del Mediterraneo motorway or the N.340 national highway towards Castellon and Barcelona.
